The Implant Consult Playbook + Toolkit · Blake Hundley

The whole implant consult, and the 14 tools to run it.

A toolkit your team uses on Monday: the intake form, the doctor handoff brief, consult notes, the patient's plan summary, the follow up tracker, the weekly scorecard, text templates and desk cards. Plus the playbook: the system from the first call to the follow up, for your front desk, your coordinator and your doctor.

Three red flags in your implant consult, and the fix for each.

These are the three from the reel, with the fix written out. You don't need to buy anything to use them. Read them with your coordinator this week.

Red flag 01

The spouse on the form never gets mentioned.

The intake form lists a husband, wife or partner, and the coordinator runs the whole consult without bringing them up.

The fix

Read the intake before they sit down. If a partner is listed, bring it up early, in your own words. Something like:

"I saw Taylor on your form. Do you want Taylor in on this today? We can call on speaker now, or set a quick call for later this week."

Why: a partner who never heard the plan only hears the price.

Red flag 02

The doctor walks in cold.

The doctor gets a name and a chart, and starts from zero in front of the patient.

The fix

Brief the doctor for 30 seconds before they walk in, in this order:

  1. What's bothering the patient, in their own words.
  2. Why now.
  3. Upper, lower or full mouth.
  4. Where they stand on financing.
  5. Any worry the doctor should hear outside the room, not inside it.

Why: the doctor walks in knowing what matters to this patient, and nothing comes up for the first time in front of them.

Red flag 03

"I need to think about it" gets "Call us when you're ready."

The patient leaves with no next step, and the follow up now depends on them calling you.

The fix

Find out what they're thinking about, then set the next step before they leave:

"That makes sense. So I know how to help, is it more the treatment itself you want to think over, or more the cost?"

Treatment questions go back to the doctor. Cost questions go to your financing options. Either way, put a date on the next step.

Why: "call us when you're ready" hands the next step to the patient.

Example wording. Use your own words, keep clinical answers with your doctor, and treat it as a script, not medical, legal or financial advice.

A playbook and a toolkit, not just a PDF.

The playbook is the system. The toolkit is what your team fills in, prints and sends while they run it. Every tool is its own file, so you can edit one, print one or put your logo on one without touching the rest.

The Implant Consult Playbook

The system for the whole consult, from the first call to the follow up: the stages and their order, the timing, the decision rules, the key lines to say as written, what to listen for, common mistakes and a checklist for every part. Every part points to the tool that runs it.

Who it's for · and who it's not for

Built for the practice already paying for implant leads.

The playbook and toolkit work on the leads you already have. They're about what your team says and does once a lead reaches you.

It's for you if

  • You offer implant consults and pay for ads, SEO or both to get them.
  • Leads come in, but too few book, too few show, or too few start.
  • You want your front desk, your coordinator and your doctor saying the same thing every time, on the same forms.
  • You're a general dentist or an implant practice and you want the consult written down, so a new hire can run it too.

It's not for you if

  • You want a result promised. This is a process, and what changes depends on your team using it.
  • You want someone else to answer your phones or run your consults for you.
  • You want pressure lines or fake urgency. There are none in it.
  • You want clinical claims written for you. Your doctor owns those.
  • You don't have implant leads yet. Start with the marketing: implant marketing.
Inside the playbook · 8 parts

The whole consult, in order.

Here is exactly what's in the playbook, part by part. Each part ends with a checklist and the tool from the toolkit that runs it.

Part 01

The rule the whole playbook runs on

  • Outcome before price
  • Patients don't value dentistry until something hurts
  • Whoever asks the questions runs the conversation
  • The whole system on one page: seven steps, an owner and a finish line for each
Part 02

The first call

  • The call in eight steps, with the timing for each
  • The five questions, and what each one tells you later
  • Two times, every time
  • The card on file, and when it's charged
  • Decision rules for the calls that go off script
Part 03

The free consult that isn't free

  • The 140 math
  • Fee, card on file or refundable deposit: pick one
  • The policy, said one way everywhere
  • No-shows, step by step
Part 04

Before they sit down

  • Intake review: chief complaint, decision maker, financing signals
  • The room
  • The 30 second huddle
Part 05

In the chair

  • Five timed stages, from the roadmap to the close
  • Discovery, including the 1 to 10 question
  • Education with the outcome first
  • The money order: the total, then the monthly, two financing paths, the soft pull
  • The two core objections: "more than I expected" and "I need to think about it"
  • The two date close
Part 06

When they can't decide today

  • The spouse or partner call
  • Holding a date
  • The 30 second doctor handoff
Part 07

After they leave

  • The follow up calendar: same day video text, 24 hour call, 48 to 72 hour similar case (with that patient's written consent)
  • The showed but didn't start list
  • Reactivation
Part 08

The numbers

  • The 10 numbers and their formulas
  • The show rate math
  • Fix the first low row
  • The weekly scorecard
Plus the toolkit

14 tools that run it

  • 7 forms, 3 trackers, the text and email templates and 3 printable cards
  • Fillable PDF, Word and Excel, plus a Start Here page
  • Every part of the playbook points to the tool it uses

Before you use any of it: cards on file, deposits, no-show fees and texting follow your state's rules, so check them. Financing language follows your lender's rules and truth in lending rules. Similar case photos only with that patient's written consent. It's a script and a process, not legal, medical or financial advice.

The 140 math · what one case is worth

On one account, one case equals 140 paid consults.

$21,000
Average case value, one account
÷
$150
A paid consult fee, for example
=
140
Consult fees in one case

On one account, the average case value was over $21,000 in February. That's case value, not money collected, and these are my own figures, not independently verified. Divide it by a $150 consult fee and you get 140. So one case that starts, or doesn't, is worth 140 paid consults in case value. In profit terms it's fewer, since case value isn't profit.

Hold that next to the price in the box below. It's not a promise of results: what changes depends on your team using it.

The video course

I'm building a video course that breaks down every stage on camera, with the full word for word scripts and role plays for each one. It isn't out yet and it has no date. The playbook and toolkit work on their own, and nothing in them depends on the course.

The ads bring the lead. The consult decides.

My agency runs the marketing for dental practices: SEO, Google Ads, Meta ads and websites. A lead costs real money before it ever reaches your phone, and what your team says next decides whether it becomes a patient.

I'm a marketer, not a treatment coordinator, and this isn't coaching. It's the consult process my agency gives the practices we work with, written down as a system with the forms to run it, so your team can run it without me.

Yes. The Word versions are editable, so you can add your logo, your practice name and your own policy details. The patient-facing forms have a space for your logo.

The key lines are in: the one or two lines for each stage that do the job, plus the order, the timing and the rules around them. The full word for word scripts and role plays are for the video course, which isn't out yet. The phone scripts are already free on our free consult front desk script page.

No. The Dental Case Acceptance Playbook is a free page on our site, free to read. The Implant Consult Playbook + Toolkit is a separate paid product built only around the implant consult, from the first call to the follow up, with the forms and trackers to run it.

It's written for any practice that runs implant consults, and that includes general dentists who offer implants. No playbook can promise results. What changes depends on your team using it on every call and every consult.

[BLAKE: set refund policy]

Yes, inside your practice. One purchase is a license for one practice, so print the cards, edit the forms and share the files with your own team. [BLAKE: confirm]

No. It's a script, a process and a set of templates. Have your counsel review the consult hold policy, check your state's rules on cards on file, deposits, no-show fees and texting, follow your lender's rules and truth in lending rules on financing, keep clinical claims to what your doctor confirms, and get written consent before you share any patient's case.

No. Closing More Cases runs the marketing: SEO, Google Ads, Meta ads and websites. The playbook and toolkit are for your team, on the calls and consults those leads turn into. If you want the marketing side handled, talk to us.
